Happy 1st of the month! 😁☀️ Over at the farm (despite the weather’s best efforts!) we’ve been inundated with flowers - so if anyone would like some flowers outside of our normal stand opening times please feel free to message, as we can take custom orders most days! 🥰🌼
We’ve also had a few enquiries about weddings- very exciting 😍💍! We’re planning to put together some packages and info about what we can offer for weddings/events on our website very soon but in the meantime; if you have an event coming up, pop us a message and we can chat through options - we’d love to be part of your big day 🥰! 🌸🌼

We had our first market today! 🎪 I was very nervous setting up but it was so nice to speak to so many lovely people about our shared love of flowers and put some faces to names 🥰🌸 thank you so much to everyone who stopped by! 😄

Trialling some subscription bouquets pre made-up in jars so they’re ready to put on the table at home/gift to someone 🥰 we’re hoping to do some smaller versions of these in jars/paper bags as ready-to-gift for teachers as the term comes to an end! 🎓🍎

Everything is looking so happy and healthy over at the farm, lots of pollinators and other bugs buzzing around (I have the bites to show for it! 😂) and everything is just full of life 🌱😍🐝
(Warning) Bit of a long post on some of the more nitty gritty parts of the farm, just in case anyone is interested in how we grow things;
🌼When we first started the farm it was important to us that we made something that gave as much back to the environment as we were getting from it. We spent a long time researching the best methods/practices that prioritised the ecology of the land and have been so pleased (but unsurprised) with how well nature takes care of itself 🥰
We’ve been mulching throughout the season to help retain water, provide nutrients and keep the weeding down! (As you can probably see in the pictures I’ve given up weeding the paths and I’m telling myself it’s just more habitat for the bugs 😅🐞🐛)
🌾Around the cutting patch we’ve left the meadow wild so nature can do it’s thing- win win for us and everything that lives here! (Which is why you’ll find lots of native flower species in your bouquets!) 🌞🌼🌱
💦 We are very lucky to have a stream running through our land which we pump up to the patch and use drip-feed irrigation, so no water wasted and after it filters through the soil it all ends up back down at the stream again 🥰💦
🌱As you can also probably see from the pictures, none of our beds are monocultures- everything is jumbled in the way it would be in nature, with plenty of companion plants to naturally deter pests and attract pollinators 🐝

Since the weather is doing its best to cook the flowers, I cut a load of stems today just to use for practicing my hand-tying technique (it’s so much harder than you’d think!) 🥲🌸 This is the result, it took me an embarrassingly long time, but I’m at peace with how it turned out 😌 If anyone has any tips for hand-tying bouquets with small hands please let me know! 👏😄🐝🌼☀️

A spring wreath made with seasonal flowers and foliage from the farm. Everything in this design is chosen with sustainability in mind — the moss and flowers are fully compostable, and the base is formed with reusable chicken wire instead of floral foam.

When the flowers fade, the natural materials go on the compost heap and the wire is reused again. 🌱
